IIS Internet Info Services

Hi,

I'm trying to install SQL Server 2005 Enterprise edition.

It is telling me that I don't have IIS installed and that it may

cause some problems. I can't find where to install from

add/remove components nor can I find it in any of my

network connections. Does anyone know where to

install this from? Thanks in advance.

Newbie.......Eric

IIS comes with XP Pro, it is not available with XP Home. It's never installed by default, but you can add it in add windows components.

Yes I did look through the add/remove components section

in the control panel but I don't see it in there anywhere.

Any other ideas would be helpful. I'm on my way the the MS

web-site to see if I can download it somewhere. But yes,

I am running the Home ED.

TIA....Eric

Then, as I said, you're stuck. Home Edition cannot run IIS. That would be a point of differentiation that helps sell the Pro edition.

Yeah that's a bummer.

Well I'm just learning VB all over again.

I did some programming in VB6 for a little while.

So since I'm just learning VB 2005 maybe I won't

that functionality for awhile to come.

Thanks for the help......Eric

If you want to do ASP.NET, I believe VS2005 has a mini web server built into it, but I don't believe that will help if SQL Server thinks it needs it for some reason ( I assume it needs it only to expose itself over the web, which you won't want to do anyhow ).
