I-Mate JasJar And compact framework installation Problem ?

Hi everyone here

i have a little problem :

i tried to install the compact framework onto my pocket pc with windows mobile 5.0

but the installation fiailed and gave me an error .

the error message said that :

the version of installation is not specified for this version of

operating system ..

so what can i do to install compact framework on the device ?

please help !

i have copied the files :

X:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\SDK\CompactFramework\v2.0\WindowsCE\wce500\armv4i\NETCFv2.wm.armv4i.cab

and run it .

Is this message produced on desktop or device?

after i installed the file above , i tried to run

an application uses the namespace System.Data.SqlServerCe

i got an error message said :

" File Or Assembly name 'System.Data.SqlServerCe , Version=3.0.3600.0, .....

...' , or one of its depenencies, was not found."

so what is the problem ?

in regards to the SqlServerCE error message, SQL Server Mobile needs to be installed separate from the framework:

You've got this message because your application is using SQL Mobile which you have to install separately from NETCF.

Either you’ve installed incorrect version (e.g. SQL CE 2.0 instead of SQL Mobile) or you’ve installed it before NETCF (which would suppress managed provider installation).

I have solved the problem by reinstalling the SqlServerCe, now everything is all right.

Got all excited all the new sql server 2005. Downloaded it, during
installation, it complained about requirement for uninstallation of previous
eval/CTP version. So, I obliged, however, the uninstallation were
incomplete. Now, The Remove Program couldn't uninstall SQL Server 2000
Reporting Service, it asked for a freaking version of .Net Framework.
Couldn't SQL Server 2005 installation package checking all previous
installation and automatically remove all of them?

I don't know what pre-release version you had installed but there is a build
uninstall wizard on the Sept. CTP media that will forcibly remove the
pre-release stuff. There is something similar for pre-release VS 2005 via
download.

Thanks for the follow-up. Problem resolved. Right after I posted the msg I
knocked myself in the head, what a fool I was. There could be others
experiencing the same problem, posted it and got answered, sure enough,
another thread has info on a patch workaround to clean up the mess. So, I've
now successfully installed sql server 2005.
Another question though, bear with me for not to post it separately,
is there a way to copy a database from Database Service to
Analysis Service?

IIS4 lockdown install conflicts with MS SQL 7.0

I need to install IIS4 lockdown for FTP services.
However, when i installed it, it caused problems with my
MS SQL 7.0 installation. I had to re-installed the old
odbc from the sql7 cd and rerun sql service pack 4 in
order to get the SQL7 to function again. Can you PLEASE
help me on how to install these two products to play nice
together.

I guess you are running both IIS and SQL Server on the same machine, which
is not advisable!
I am not sure what IIS lockdown would have done apart from disabling the
services and closing the ports. I didn't think it removed ODBC drivers but
to load more up-to-date drivers re-install MDAC.
Check your SQL Server log file and the Event Log to see if there is any
useful information there.

IIS & SQL Server 2005 Express Edition installation problems in Vista

Hi,

Im encountering yet another problem in Vista(Vista Home Premium). I have turned on all IIS features from control panel. When I open http://localhost it gives the error

HTTP Error 404.4 - Not Found

Description: The resource you are looking for does not have a handler associated with it

How should i resolve this?

Also, when I try to install SQL server 2005 express edition, it gives the warning that IIS is not installed, though I have installed all the features and it is running.

I have been struggling for the past one week, just to install SQL server on vista!

Hi, I have gone through the entire thread you pointed me to... but to no avail. I have installed asp.net under IIS without any problems, but im still having the same issues i mentioned earlier. When I open IIS manager, under handler mappings, ISAPI-dll and CGI-exe are disabled by default. Could this be a problem? How do I enable them? please help.
