Images not displaying
I have images that reside in a database table on SQL server. When previewing
a report in Report Designer, the images display just fine. After uploading
the report to Report Manager, the images don't display and a red x displays.
Another issue is that the graph on the report is not displaying as well. A
red x displays instead. Again, the report previews perfectly in Report
Designer. Any suggestions?
Thanks! One more thing I forgot to mention. All drilldowns are not working either.
When you click on a drilldown, it makes the "click" sound and moves a bit to
the left. It doesn't drilldown. Again, it works just fine in Report Designer.

Images Not Displayed On Server
The reports are displayed fine on my machine and on the test server we use for demo builds.
When I place a build on our remote webserver the images don't display correctly. They don't show up as red x's, but only the outline of the image and the icon specifying that the object is an image is visible. Another developer is working with the project on his machine and is experiencing the same problem.
What could be causing this? I don't think this is a permissions issue, as I have given both Everyone and IUSER full read privileges on the image directories of both problem machines.
I am running Windows XP Pro and we are using Framework V1.1. The problem machines are running windows server 2003 and windows server 2000 respectively.
Does anyone have any clue as to what the problem could be?
Thanks,
RonWhere the image files are stored? Have u tested the path is taken in a right way by ur server. (i.e, it may points to local path)|||Hmm, well the path shown when I right click and view properties of the image isn't anything that I can go check... it is an image that is dynamically generated by the report engine.
Do you know of anyway I can specify the image locations as relative, as opposed to absolute? The test server that works fine is using a directory structure identical to the one I am using, however the other two machines are slightly different.
If you know how to specify a path as relative please let me know, I really appreciate it.
Ron|||I'm not sure is this the right way?
For static images, store the image files in the folder where rpt files are located.
Goto your report, select the image from that path. It'll work will accessing from the server.
But for dynamic images? If it is dynamic, u must have specified the path somewhere in your code. right?|||No, the images are all being specified correctly... in fact, when I generate a PDF or Word document from the report the images display just fine.
I am really curious as to what could be causing this?|||Sorry, no idea
Try to search businessobjects web site. U may have some info.
Images do not display in Reporting Sevices on Windows 2003 Server
I have reporting services installed on windows 2003 server.
Embedded Images do display in designer preview, but they do not display in
Report Manager or browser. When I use localhost instead of my machine name in
report url, then images are displayed. I have installed service pack 1 & 2
for RS. After that I installed SP4 for SQL Server. Can some body help in this
regard?
Thanks in anticipation.Hi
Following issue is resolved.
Please look at following link. "_" in the machine name is the
culprit. I used the IP and it worked fine. Also replace machine name in
report server and report manager config files with machine IP address.

matter what file format your using (png, gif etc.) The only way I've found
around it (which isn't acceptable in my opinion) is to use the "fit"
parameter for the image.
From what I've read - RS sends a jscript to resize image in browser. I'm
guessing it fails to work because it is line art.

IIF Statement in Query designer
Hello,
I am trying to use following IIF Statement in Query designer but getting error message saying "Incorrect syntax
near '>')
Can anyone please help, perhaps correct the statement for me?
IIF([Expected Receipt Date] > now(), 1, 0) AS EXPR1
Thank you in advance
-- Praf
the Query Designer uses SQL
Try a Case Statement instead of the IIF statement
example
CASE
WHEN [Expected Receipt Date] > getdate() THEN 1
Else 0
END as EXPR1
|||Charles is correct; IFF is available in Report Services but is NOT part of the Transact SQL language. If you are going to edit this query from the Query Designer then CASE syntax is a good choice.
( OK, I am confused with this; where am I going wrong with this? )
|||I tried the case statement,
I error "The Query Designer does not support the CASE SQL construct." but did provide the results.
Also I am building this query in Query designer.
Thanks
|||Your code seems like a mix between SQL and RS expressions. To use expressions, you must have the = sign in front of the query. This will allow you to build the SQL statement by concatenating strings, using the IIF expression if needed.

IIf problem
IIf(Parameters!StartDate.Value = "" or Parameters!EndDate.Value = "", "", "where (Date between '" & Parameters!StartDate.Value & "' and '" & Parameters!EndDate.Value & "')")
A double-quote character within a string literal is escaped by a preceding double-quote. So, the second argument of IIf() should look like:
"where (Date between '"" & Parameters!StartDate.Value & ""' and '"" & Parameters!EndDate.Value & ""')"

2.4.4 String Literals
A string literal is a sequence of zero or more Unicode characters beginning and ending with an ASCII double-quote character, a Unicode left double-quote character, or a Unicode right double-quote character. Within a string, a sequence of two double-quote characters is an escape sequence representing a double quote in the string.
